Preparing for Your First Appointment

To make your first visit as smooth as possible, please bring:

Your insurance card
A list of any medications you’re currently taking
Any recent X-rays, MRIs, or diagnostic studies related to your condition
Information about previous chiropractic or acupuncture treatments
A list of questions or concerns you’d like to discuss

Your Initial Visit: Getting to Know You

Your first appointment gives us the opportunity to learn about you and your health concerns. We set aside approximately 45-60 minutes for this initial visit to ensure we have plenty of time to understand your situation thoroughly.

When you arrive, our friendly staff will help you complete your paperwork and make copies of your insurance information. Dr. Chang will then meet with you to discuss your primary health complaint and health history, including any previous treatments or surgeries you’ve had. He may then order X-rays for you, depending on your needs.

Then, he’ll perform a thorough examination, checking your spine, range of motion, reflexes, and conducting specific tests related to your condition. Depending on your case, you may be getting adjusted on your first visit.

If you are seeking acupuncture, the doctor will walk you through the treatment process and will be more than happy to answer any questions you might have.

Your Second Visit: Understanding Your Care Plan

During your second visit, Dr. Chang will provide a detailed report of his findings and recommend a personalized treatment plan. He’ll explain what’s causing your symptoms, how he can help, and answer all your questions about your care options.

This is the perfect time to ask about treatment frequency, expected outcomes, and any concerns you might have.

Convenient Care, Suited for Your Long-Term Needs

After your initial visits, regular appointments are much shorter but equally important to your healing process. When you arrive, you’ll sign in and be seen promptly. Our no-wait policy ensures you’re never left sitting in the waiting room.

Dr. Chang will check your entire spine during each visit. He provides adjustments using either traditional manual techniques or gentle, low-force instrument methods, depending on your preference and needs.

For auto accident or injury patients, your treatment may also include physical therapy modalities such as electric muscle stimulation, heat/ice therapy, or ultrasound to speed your recovery.

Payment and Insurance Arrangements

At the conclusion of your first visit, one of our team members will take your co-pay, or if you are a cash patient, your first visit payment. Your second visit will also be scheduled during this time.

If you’re seeking treatment after an auto accident, we explain how we handle insurance billing and work with attorneys, emphasizing that there are no upfront costs to you during that first visit.

For any ensuing appointments, a co-pay or cash payment will be accepted at the conclusion of your appointment, and then we will schedule your next visit. If Dr. Chang has recommended multiple visits, you have the option of scheduling these ahead, and you also can pay your copay once a week to save time.
